GUIDING LIGHT is the world’s leading international organisation dedicated to ethics and sustainability in technology. In collaboration with a diverse community of individuals, organisations, artists, and entrepreneurs, we champion the global “Tech for Good” movement. We offer an international platform and think tank for innovative, ethical, and sustainable technology projects that address social challenges and create lasting, positive impact for the public good.
Technology literacy is a fundamental human right. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to engage in meaningful conversations about technology and use it for the greater good of humanity.
Everyone deserves to know what happens to their data on social media and to understand the impact emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence, extended reality, and tools like ChatGPT, have on their lives. We aim to educate, support, and empower diverse communities to actively participate in these critical discussions.
Human rights are at the core of everything we do. Our mission is to provide a network and create initiatives that generate innovative, ethical technology projects, educate diverse groups within society, and support tech projects with ongoing ethical and sustainable standards that improve lives.
In all our actions, we are committed to fostering an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community. We are a community for voices that are often overlooked in conversations about technology - particularly female tech experts, technologists from the LGBTQIA+ community, and people of colour.
At the same time, we acknowledg the broader impact of our work. In line with our humanitarian responsibility, we have founded the independent, non-profit sister organisation "Guiding Lights – Society to Support People in Need and Charity Initiatives." This organisation works to support social causes through charity campaigns like #bravehood and collaborates with partners such as UNICEF and War Child. While independent, Guiding Lights is affiliated with and supported by GUIDING LIGHT in all of its efforts.
